Saudi-led coalition forces carried out airstrikes against Houthi military positions in Yemen’s Hodeidah governorate in late July, marking a significant escalation after a renewed series of Houthi attacks and threats against Saudi-linked shipping in the Red Sea. The strikes were reported on July 24, while the coalition confirmed the operation the following day and said it had targeted military capabilities used to threaten commercial vessels. The Houthis, through their Al Masirah television network, reported strikes on facilities in Hodeidah city and Kamaran Island, but several operational details remained disputed.
